Abu Dhabi is the federal capital, and its homes carry that register: quieter, larger, more formally laid out than their Dubai counterparts. The city sits on a triangular island connected to the mainland by three bridges, with a Corniche running along its north-western shore, the embassy district behind it, and a string of newer reclaimed islands extending east — Saadiyat, Yas, Al Reem, Al Maryah. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the white-and-gold cathedral mosque on the southern edge of the island, is the most photographed building in the country and one of the few you can visit without a booking.
Saadiyat Island is the cultural district — Louvre Abu Dhabi opened in 2017, the Guggenheim and the Zayed National Museum are both under construction nearby, and the beachfront resorts (St Regis, Park Hyatt, the Saadiyat Beach Club) line its outer edge. Yas Island, north-east of the city, hosts the Formula 1 circuit, Yas Mall, Ferrari World and Warner Bros — and is increasingly residential at Yas Acres and Yas Bay. Al Maryah Island holds the Cleveland Clinic, the Galleria Mall and the new financial district, and Al Reem extends north as a forest of apartment towers serving young families and professionals.
Most of our Abu Dhabi work is villa-led — Saadiyat, Yas Acres, Khalifa City, the older inland communities like Al Mushrif and Al Bateen. Briefs run larger than in Dubai, palettes are typically more conservative, and lead times need to account for the longer drive from our atelier. From Saadiyat to Al Ain.
On the islands, we deliver furniture in Saadiyat Island across the cultural and beachfront capital — Louvre Abu Dhabi at its centre, beach villas at Hidd Al Saadiyat, and apartment towers at Saadiyat Beach Residences. Just to the north-east, the orders for furniture in Yas Island ship through Yas Acres villas, Yas Bay and the Marina, where younger Abu Dhabi families are increasingly settling. Customers buying furniture in Al Reem Island are typically in the densest of the residential islands — towers, the Reem Mall, and the Sun and Sky towers at its southern tip.
