Made to last. Looked after for life.
Every Nader piece is built to outlast trends. With a little care, the right fabrics and finishes will keep their warmth, depth and structure for decades. Here's how to look after yours.
How to clean velvet.
Performance velvets like SKYTEX are designed to handle real life — but the pile direction is sensitive to wear patterns and crushed spots. A weekly brush-down keeps it looking new.
Weekly care.
Use a soft brush attachment on your vacuum, moving with the pile direction (you'll feel which way is smoother). This lifts crushed fibres and removes dust before it settles in.
Stains happen.
Blot — never rub — with a clean dry cloth immediately. For liquid spills, follow with a slightly damp microfibre cloth and a tiny drop of mild upholstery soap. Let it dry naturally.
Rotate cushions.
Every 2–3 months, flip and rotate the seat and back cushions so they wear evenly. This also keeps the feather-blend interior breathing properly.
What to avoid.
Direct sunlight for prolonged hours (fades pile), aggressive chemical cleaners, steam cleaning at home, and pets with un-clipped nails on the upholstery.
How to clean leather.
Full-grain leather develops a patina over time — that's a feature, not a flaw. Our advice is mostly about humidity and oils, not aggressive cleaning.
Wipe weekly.
Soft, slightly damp microfibre cloth. No detergents. This removes everyday dust before it works into the grain.
Condition every six months.
A neutral leather conditioner (we recommend Furniture Clinic or Saphir Renovateur) keeps the hide supple and prevents cracking. Apply sparingly with a clean cloth, work in, buff off.
Spills + oils.
Blot immediately. For oil stains (food, lotion, sunscreen) sprinkle cornstarch over the spot, leave overnight, brush off. For water rings, let air-dry and they typically fade.
What to avoid.
Direct heat sources (radiators, fireplaces), sunlight that bakes the hide, and any cleaner with ammonia, bleach or silicone. They damage the finish irreversibly.
How to clean bouclé and linen.
The loops in bouclé and the weave in linen pick up dust easily and respond well to gentle treatment. The single biggest thing you can do is vacuum often.
Weekly vacuum.
Upholstery attachment on low suction. The looped texture traps dust quickly so weekly is better than monthly.
Snagged loops.
If a bouclé loop snags or pulls, never cut it — gently tuck the loose loop back into the weave with the rounded end of a knitting needle or a similar blunt tool.
Spot cleaning.
Mild upholstery soap, a soft cloth, work outside-in to avoid spreading the spot. Always test on an inconspicuous corner first.
Professional clean.
Once a year, schedule an upholstery clean with a specialist. We can recommend trusted partners in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah on request.
Caring for wood.
The wood frames inside every Nader piece are stable for decades. Externally-visible wood (dining tables, sideboards, bedside cabinets) just needs a regular wipe and the right humidity.
Daily wipe.
Soft dry cloth removes dust. For sticky spots, a barely-damp cloth and immediate dry afterwards.
Humidity.
UAE air-conditioning runs dry. Keep humidity between 40–55% RH where possible — a small humidifier extends the life of wood considerably.
Hot + cold.
Never place hot pans directly on wood. Use coasters under sweating glasses. The finish is durable, not invincible.
Polish occasionally.
Pure beeswax polish, twice a year, applied with a lint-free cloth and buffed off. Skip the spray polishes — they build up over time and dull the natural depth.
Travertine, marble, calacatta.
Stone tops on dining and coffee tables are the most beautiful — and most demanding — finish we offer. Sealed properly, they last forever. Sealed badly, they stain in a season.
Wipe spills immediately.
Especially red wine, citrus, coffee, soy sauce, and anything oil-based. Marble is alkaline — acidic spills etch the surface within minutes.
Re-seal annually.
Use a penetrating stone sealer once a year (we recommend Fila MP90). Apply with a clean cloth, wait 5 minutes, buff off. Takes 15 minutes, saves the table.
Coasters always.
Even if it feels overcautious. The seal is good for two years if you're careful; sealing is for the times you weren't.
What to avoid.
Citrus cleaners, vinegar, bleach, and abrasive scrubbing pads. Stick to pH-neutral stone cleaners — Method daily granite cleaner is fine for marble too.
