Jumeirah Beach Residence — JBR — is the cluster of forty residential and hotel towers that runs along the open Gulf coastline immediately west of Dubai Marina. The development was completed in 2010 and grouped into six named clusters: Murjan, Sadaf, Bahar, Rimal, Shams and Amwaj. The Walk at JBR — the pedestrianised seafront promenade running the full length of the development — is one of the city's busiest open-air public spaces, and the open beach behind it is one of the few stretches of public Dubai shoreline.
Apartments in JBR run larger than their Marina-side counterparts, partly because the towers themselves are wider — three-and-four-bedroom layouts pushing past 250 square metres are normal, and the higher floors get unobstructed Gulf views all the way to the Palm. Bluewaters Bridge connects the southern end of JBR to Bluewaters Island, home to the Ain Dubai observation wheel — at 250 metres, the world's tallest — and the new Caesars Palace hotel cluster. The footbridge opens at dusk and gives one of the better skyline views in this part of the city. To the north of JBR sits the Address Beach Resort, with its infinity pool that consistently makes architecture-magazine lists of the world's best.
